Worth an afternoon visit outside of the city
Villa Reale di Marlia的点评
点评：We both really enjoyed our afternoon at Villa Reale Marlia. The grounds are absolutely immaculate, with the many waterfalls, fountains and other features all beautifully maintained and in working order. There is so much to see and explore throughout the estate.
We particularly enjoyed visiting the grotto, which was fascinating, as well as the tower, where there are some really interesting artefacts on display. The main villa itself is also well worth taking the time to explore.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the facilities, including the café and restrooms, were clean and well maintained, with good service.
Our only negative was actually nothing to do with Villa Reale itself. We travelled from Lucca on the number 59 bus, which is supposed to stop outside the entrance gates. Unfortunately, the bus dropped us about a 7–10 minute walk away from the entrance instead. This could be difficult for anyone with mobility issues using public transport. Thankfully, on the return journey the bus does collect passengers directly outside the entrance.
Overall, we had a lovely afternoon and would definitely recommend visiting Villa Reale Marlia if you are staying in Lucca. It is a beautiful and fascinating place and well worth the visit.
