The Palace of Knossos的点评
点评：We visited Knossos when in Crete on our honeymoon in October 2025. So pleased we went as the site was beautiful and the ruins very interesting. My husband is a history teacher and so had looked up the palace beforehand, but I would recommend booking a tour guide to help you around the site as otherwise it’s a little difficult to understand. There were signs in English dotted around to explain particular areas/rooms though which was helpful.
There were plenty of benches in shady areas to rest and take in the ruins around the site which was good, but I think the site itself would be difficult to navigate with a wheelchair or pushchair as the ground was quite uneven in places and there were stairs to access the higher levels.
There’s a lovely café and gift shop on site and the staff were friendly and helpful.
I would also recommend pairing this trip with a visit to the Heraklion Archaeological Museum in Heraklion as they have exhibits with models of Knossos and displays of frescoes and artefacts found there. It’s only 10 minutes or so by car from Knossos and so made a good morning out for us.
Would definitely come back here if we come to Crete again.
