点评：This was unequivocally, the most interesting museum we’ve ever visited.
Mhairi was able to relay this quite remarkable man’s life-story in a brilliant fashion and no-matter how esoteric our questions, had the depth of knowledge to answer them.
The building itself is small but historic, being the original savings bank itself. However, it’s only one facet of the Rev. Duncan’s life. Embarrassingly, we’d not heard of this man despite him doing enough to fill five ample lives.
Quite unbelievable that he introduced banking for the peasants of the time, men, women & children, to be able to bank safely and amazingly allowed them to accrue interest on their meagre savings whilst not profiteering from this facility.
Without doubt, the most interesting museum we’ve ever visited. Mhairi’s knowledge & enthusiasm really made it stand out. Definitely worth the trip, the little hamlet & surrounding area are a little bonus.
