点评：The Puccini Museum – Casa Natale is an inspiring museum that brings you into the life of Giacomo Puccini in a remarkably honest and human way. It doesn’t only celebrate his successes, but also shows his struggles, imperfections, ambitions, and the more complicated sides of his personality.
You get an interesting glimpse into his many relationships with women, his almost obsessive attention to detail, and his strong desire to highlight and shape his own legacy. At the same time, you are constantly reminded of the extraordinary talent behind it all - and, not least, his great music.
The audio guide, available in both Italian and English, takes you through the museum room by room and adds a lot to the experience. It makes the visit easy to follow while providing interesting context about the different rooms, objects, and stages of Puccini’s life.
Our whole family of five (kids 11-15) thoroughly enjoyed the visit. It felt both educational and entertaining, and gave us a much more personal understanding of the man behind the music.
Photos are also allowed, which is a nice bonus.
Definitely worth a visit when in Lucca - especially if you have an interest in Puccini, music, or simply fascinating personalities from history.
