Lovely alpine village
Alpbach的点评
点评：We visited Alpbach for a week and booked with Inghams, staying at the Hotel Alphof. We came from Salzburg and the journey by coach is just over 2 hours. Compared to other places where tourists were dropped off, ie St Johann and Kitzbuhel, Alpbach is a sleepy village and delightful for it. The valley is very picturesque and there are many walking routes, it is not a flat place so more moderate to challenging routes for walkers, there is only one bus an hour to the lift for Weidersberhorn. We walked the Panorama route and up to the summit and up to Loderstein from there. We also walked to Inneralpbach and took the bus back. If you were to come from the Salzburg or Innsbruck airports independently you would have to take the train to Brixlegg and bus from there.
There is a Spar supermarket in the lower part of the village where you can buy sandwiches from the deli counter. You can refill water bottles for free from the water fountain opposite the Hotel Zur Post. We also hiked up to the Kasalm (cheese farm ) and had some delicious cake and bought some of their lovely cheese. The matured cheese is similar to Comte and delicious,
Don’t miss a visit to Farmkeralm which is a gorgeous mountain farm hut offering savoury and sweet foods. There is a bakery in the village but it only sells bread and is open for short hours in the morning,
Overall, a lovely place to visit for hiking.
