Snowdon Mountain Railway的点评
点评：OK, this is a pricey trip, especially if you opt for the steam train rather than the diesel engine as we did. But we had a fantastic time and so don’t resent the cost.
They ask you to arrive at the station just on the edge of Llanberis an hour before your departure time, you don’t really need to be there that early but I can see why they want you there ahead of time as we saw some people who had booked be turned away because they were late. The trains have to leave exactly on time as there is only one place for the upwards and downwards trains to pass. We whiled away the spare time with coffee in the station buffet, which had a great selection of cakes.
Half an hour before boarding you are shown into the picture house to watch a film about the building and operation of the railway, which was interesting and very well done. The Station Master then shows you onto the train and off you go!
Being on the steam train was great because so many of the walkers ascending the mountain looked genuinely delighted to see the train and waved enthusiastically. We of course waved back! The views are of course spectacular and you can see all the way out to the coast.
It’s true that you don’t get long at the summit, and if you’re there at a very busy time in the summer months there would barely be time to queue for coffee, go to the toilet and queue to ascend to the highest point. It was just enough time for us arriving at 11.30 on a late September weekday, but it was starting to get busy as we left. The cafe is a little pricey but honestly I think that’s to be expected.
When we got back down we returned to the station buffet and had delicious piping hot oggies.
A wonderful morning out, a real highlight of 2026 for me.

回来后，我们又去了车站的自助餐厅，品尝了热腾腾、美味无比的馅饼。
这是一个美好的早晨，对我而言简直就是2026年最难忘的回忆之一。
