点评:I want to clear some confusion about New Place. In the Town Centre Heritage Trail it is billed as New Place and Nash’s house. It is just a garden on the site of Shakespeares New Place house. It is a nice garden in three distinct parts with sculptures and interesting plants.
Even the leaflet we were given by the guide at the property shows exhibition rooms to visit in the adjoining Nash’s house but this is very misleading. The only open part of Nash’s house is the toilet. Everything else is locked up . If you buy a ticket for Shakespeares birthplace this garden is free. Actually the great garden part is open to the public anyway.
Interesting talks are given here throughout the day although no one at the gate told us about the one going when we were there. We had to wait ages to get in ,not because there was a queue but because staff couldn’t process our tickets which were purchased at the tourist information centre,
