点评：What a stunning experience to walk round a Roman town from AD79. Just the ruins are mind blowing - the forum, the amphitheatre, palestre, loos, theatre, bakeries, baths etc. even the cartwheel ruts on the roadways. But then the decoration and frescoes from some of the properties are truly breath taking. House of Mysteries will stay in our hearts and minds for a long time. House of Vetti also. And of course the Lupinara. There were some queues especially where tours were taking place. But usefully you can just listen in to some of the guides from these groups. Definitely worth the extra 5 euros for the house of mysteries section. Cafe was v busy at lunch but we only went in for a drink mid afternoon instead. And of course finally the victims of the disaster. Very poignant to see their casts and read some detail about them.
