Fantastic and interesting experience - go in the morning!
米兰大教堂的点评
点评：We visited the Duomo in late June (during the heatwave). We pre-booked our tickets beforehand online which I would recommend as the queue can get very long. We booked to visit the roof via the lift, then afterwards you can go straight into the Duomo. I would recommend going earlier in the morning - especially in the summer months as it gets extremely hot - and the square is quieter which means it is a more pleasant experience.
If you book the roof experience make sure you go to the correct gate (not inside the Duomo like we did!). There was a short queue but it went very quickly. The lift is worth the extra bit of money but there are still steps going up, and you must climb down using steps so don’t book the roof if this would be a problem. If not, the roof is certainly worth it - seeing the gothic carvings up close was fascinating. Even with some scaffolding it was still breathtaking. Then you go straight inside where they scab your tickets again to tour the inside. Again this was absolutely breathtaking and religious services take place which you can observe.
You have to have knees and shoulders covered, you can buy a cover up there if needed.
This is an absolute must do in Milan! It is very efficiently run, buy online to skip the queues and do the roof early in the morning if you can. Enjoy!
