点评：We visited Teatro Greco to attend a performance of Alcesti, and it became one of the highlights of our Sicily trip.
The theatre itself is magnificent, but what made the experience extraordinary was watching the evening sky evolve throughout the opera, which created a breathtaking atmosphere.
The site appears very well preserved while still functioning as a current-day art venue. We noticed some reviews mentioning the modern seating and infrastructure, but we actually appreciated these additions. They seem designed to protect the ancient structure while allowing audiences to continue experiencing performances in a venue that has been entertaining people for centuries.
Our accommodation was about 1.5 km away, and our host strongly recommended walking rather than driving because parking can be difficult. The walk allowed us to experience the site before the show.
For visitors attending an Italian-language opera, we found it helpful to read about the story beforehand and use Google Translate during the performance to better understand what was happening.
Whether you’re interested in history, architecture, opera, or simply unique travel experiences, attending a performance here is something we would highly recommend.
