Hard to See, but Important to See
Museo Memoria y Tolerancia的点评
点评:I visited the Museo Memoria y Tolerancia in Mexico City expecting an important museum experience. I did not expect it to affect me as profoundly as it did.
The exhibits are powerful, disturbing and deeply human. Of course the atrocities themselves are horrifying, but what stayed with me most were the steps that came before them — propaganda, scapegoating, dehumanization, discrimination, silence and the gradual normalization of cruelty.
I left the museum thinking not only about history, but about the present and about my own behavior. It made me ask uncomfortable questions about how easily we divide people into groups, how quickly we accept narratives that confirm what we already believe and how social media can amplify fear and hatred.
Very few museums have ever caused me to reflect this deeply on my own actions and on the kind of society we are creating together.
This is not an easy museum to visit, but I believe it is an important one. If you are in Mexico City, I strongly recommend making time for it.
I walked in expecting to learn about history. I walked out thinking about responsibility.
