点评:Coming to Lisbon since more than 20 years the Gulbenkian museum, the gardens and the concert hall are part of my life.
I went last week with a friend to the newly renovated museum with the private art collection of Calouste Gulbenkian. I really loved the way they integrated the beautiful art works with the lovely gardens. It’s a small museum with selected pieces from all over the world. The architect and the curator did a great job.
The only disappointment was the Lalique room which always was a highlight during my visits to the museum. I remember years ago they would exhibit the beautiful pieces on a dark background with appropriated lighting. It made really each Lalique piece more valued , Further I don’t understand why they squeezed in this huge red painting with the ladies .It has a big baroque frame which clashes absolutely with the delicate Lalique pieces.
I hope they will remove the two paintings to a more appropriate space and make the Lalique room special again.
There is as well a modern art museum with mostly Portuguese paintings.
Don’t miss the museum shop.
