The Best Experience of Our 23 Days in Indonesia, Thanks to Qim Qim and His Incredible Team ❤️🌋

点评：Our trip to the top of Ijen with Qim Qim and his guide team was, without question, one of the most unforgettable experiences of our entire 23 day trip through Indonesia.
From the very beginning, we could see how professional and thoughtful Qim Qim and his team were. They divided everyone into three groups based on walking pace: slow, medium and fast. This meant nobody felt pressured, nobody was left behind, and every person received the support they needed along the way.
My daughter struggled while climbing down into the crater, and one of Qim Qim's guides stayed beside her, holding her hand and helping her during both the descent and the climb back up. That alone showed us how much they genuinely cared about the people in their group.
But what happened next is something my family and I will never forget.
Inside the crater, in probably the busiest and most chaotic part of the entire trip, we realised that my daughter had lost both her phone and her coat. One of the guides and I searched inch by inch for almost an hour, but we could not find them.
Eventually, Qim Qim appeared at the top of the crater. He told me not to worry and said, "Leave it to me. I will ask around and search again. You go and enjoy the sunrise. I will catch up."
And that is exactly what he did.
He completely paused his own schedule, went back down into the crater and continued searching and asking other guides if anyone had found our things. Around an hour later, he came rushing back towards the sunrise area with incredible news. Another guide from a different group had found both the coat and the phone, and they were being taken safely down to the base camp for us to collect.
After everything he had just done, Qim Qim immediately switched back into guide mode, picked up his guitar, played music, sang beautiful songs and entertained the entire group while we watched the sunrise over Ijen.
It was surreal. 🌋❤️
When we finally returned to base camp and saw that the coat and phone had really been found and safely looked after, I hugged Kim Kim. I genuinely became emotional. My whole family was amazed by what he and his team had done for us.
I have travelled a lot, but I have rarely experienced this level of care from a guide team.
They were fun, incredibly helpful, organised and constantly looking after us. When hundreds of tourists and other groups were moving through the crater, Kim Kim's team were protecting us, guiding us through the crowds and keeping everyone calm. At the top they prepared coffee and tea for us, shared beautiful stories about Ijen and explained the history of this extraordinary place.
Every detail was handled perfectly.
During our 23 days in Indonesia we visited Mt Bromo, Tumpak Sewu, countless waterfalls, beaches, Bali and many other incredible places. But Ijen with Qim Qim and his team was something completely different.
It was beyond explanation.
In fact, the experience was so special that we are already talking about returning to Java Island and doing the Ijen trip again, largely because we want to experience it once more with Kim Kim and his team.
If you are travelling anywhere near Ijen, book your trip with Qim Qim and his guides.
Do not just go to Ijen.
