Love the highlights tour and love the trees and the architecture

点评：My husband and I and my two teenagers joined a highlights tour today. Our tour guide Peter was excellent. He told us lots of fascinating histories and backgrounds about the cemetery and the people buried there.
I love the Victorian Gothic architecture in the west cemetery. The Egyptian Avenue, the Circle of Lebanon and the catacombs are impressive. The woodland growing around the architecture adds to the atmosphere beautifully.
I love how quiet the place is. It’s not overrun with tourists even on a Saturday afternoon in August. It’s lovely to walk around among the trees, to admire the architecture, enjoy the peace and visit the graves of some of the famous names in there.
I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in architecture, history and walking. We got off the London overground at Upper Holloway station and walked via the Waterlow Park to get to the cemetery.
