The perfect holiday getaway, to unwind and enjoy some real summer weather, in October
Praia de Santo António的点评
点评：Very relaxing holiday, as there was an annual fair on at this time, and a few days of Antique stalls along the promenade by the marina.
During our entire time in the is area, we never saw one homeless person, no bad behaviour , no drunken people, just well behaved polite people and families having a good time.
We decided not to cook at all on this holiday , as the food was so good wherever we ate, even In the square , one of the restaurants under a canopy , we had the very best chargrilled lamb with really beautifully cooked chips and salad,
We hired bikes in the village, and rode towards the lighthouse, then on to the next town, Monti Gordo - about 3 miles away, and where we could take our bikes on the boardwalk and had a coffee at one of the many cafe/restaurant’s, The beach which was spotless , with hardly a soul on it - still had all the beds and umbrellas up. On the ride back we rode through the pine forest to another empty beach.
Other days were spent driving to visit other places nearby, and one of the most beautiful areas and another superb beach , and beachfront restaurant was a place called Praia Verde, a green oasis with the most beautiful homes under the Pines, drive through to the parking , then walk down to the beach and restaurant , where you can also buy tickets for the beach beds.
Another day we took the Ferry, (which was right over the road from our apartment ) and went to Spain for the day , it takes half an hour, and when we arrived we had a nice few hours walking around , and having another delicious lunch in one of the ally’s , off the main square .
It’s less than an hour to drive from the airport, so, all in all a very restful ,uncomplicated holiday, with perfect weather, even at this time of the year.
