点评:The Francis Mallmann restaurant within the Kaiken winery is the perfect spot to have good food while trying the Kaiken wines. The restaurant is outdoors under the grape vines giving shade to the tables but also a lot of atmosphere to the place.
Set menus are available but ordering a la carte is also possible and most dishes are prepared in the huge wood fire oven. The eggplant appetizer was perfect with just a tinge of smokiness and the rib eye was prepared to perfection. The fried pineapples with mascarpone and dulce de leche was a lighter option to close the meal but many heavier dulce de leche creations are also available as preferred by Francis Mallmann.
Kaiken is one of not too many Mendoza wineries to produce a brut rose sparkling wine and it was a great kick-off. Several reds are available by the glass, the 2009 Mai is a wonderful choice for anyone who prefers aged wines. Definitely a top foodie experience in Mendoza which is somewhat pricey but worthwhile for a special meal.
