Governors’ Balloon Safaris的点评
点评：I would say this is a ‘must do’ if in the area. It was a 60th birthday celebration and having never been in a balloon, I wanted to mark the day with something memorable. This delivered. The trip to site was exciting in itself, crossing the Mara to Little Governors in the dark on a small boat. Coffee and toilets are available as they start firing up the balloons (quite a sight in itself). A comprehensive safety briefing before climbing in and take off.
You gently float over trees and the Mara as the sun rises looking at the wildlife below. We saw hippos, hyenas with a kill and a lion in the woodland amongst others. Then you float across the Mara plains and the views are breathtaking. The landing was great fun, bumping along a few times before coming to rest on its side. You are clipped in so just enjoy as part of the experience.
Unfortunately for us, one of the guides put us on the wrong truck to take us to the breakfast area. All the balloon people sit on numbered tables with their fellows and we arrived later than the rest meaning we didn’t get a champagne flute and missed all the speeches etc as we were queuing for our food. It wasn’t the end of the world as they filled some tumblers with fizz for us and we did enjoy a great breakfast but it was a shame to miss out on this part.
In summary, if you are thinking about it, don’t hesitate as it was the highlight of our trip.
