点评：Warren of tightly packed workshops only some of which cater for tourist tastes. Totally spoiled by the actions of “agents” who are multilingual men that meet you as soon as you come into sight, chat amiably and lie through their teeth. They will tell you that they have several workshops (not true); that everyone here is from the same family/tribe/community (also not true); and that they can show you around and get you what you need - sadly true. They can direct you to find things. They then bargain the price, you pay them. They then pay the artisans involved a tiny percentage of what you paid them. They are the pimps of the Nairobi markets, worse in Masai and Kariakoo. This isn’t my imagination. I checked with kenyan friends, I took Swahili speakers with me. Everyone is intimidated by these agents.
I wish I could advise you how to avoid them, it’s very difficult. Few of the artisans speak English and even those that do seem to shy away from the agents gaze and let them take over.
