We purchased SHIBUYA SKY tickets through Webket. When we arrived during our scheduled entry time, staff told us that the rooftop was officially closed because of severe weather. We decided not to enter. The staff gave us a “Free Cancellation Due to Rooftop Closure” leaflet and which instructed to cancel through My Page.
We followed those instructions, but when we accessed My Page there was no cancellation option. SHIBUYA SKY subsequently refused our refund, saying that the cancellation period had expired.
The leaflet states that cancellation is available before entry but says only that cancellation becomes unavailable after “a certain period of time” following the designated entry time. It does not state how many minutes that period is.
Our concern is therefore not simply that a cancellation policy exists. It is that we were told by staff to cancel through My Page, followed that instruction, and found that cancellation was unavailable.
We are currently seeking clarification from management regarding the exact cancellation deadline and how that deadline was communicated to customers.
If you are booking SHIBUYA SKY, I recommend reading the weather-closure cancellation conditions carefully and taking screenshots of the cancellation terms at the time you purchase.
