科隆大教堂的点评
点评：When you approach the Cathedral of Cologne, the most striking feature is how tall it is ! At 157 meters it is the world's tallest twin-spired church, the third-tallest church in the world. Especially inside, when you look up, the height is astonishing ; how straight it rises ! You have to admire the architects and builders who managed to keep this structure from callapsing.
Although they started construction in the 13th century - which explains the Gothic style - it was not completed until 1880.
Behind the high altar you will find the most important treasure : The Shrine of the Three Kings. Made of gold plated silver, it is one of the reasons the cathedral is a most important pilgrimage site in Europe. Spend some time admiring the fantastic stained glass windows, the sensational Triptych of the City Patrons and the statue of St Christopher.
The cathedral is UNESCO World Heritage listed and an absolute masterpiece to visit.
