Art is inherently subjective, shaped by individual interpretation. Even when a work eludes full comprehension, one might still offer respect for the artist’s dedication or creative effort.
However, the majority of the artworks in this exhibition, with the sole exception of the sculptures—which stand as the only redeeming feature—reek of artificiality, unmistakably churned out by AI. The exhibits are jarringly eccentric, riddled with telltale signs of AI generation: incoherent compositions, sluggish execution, and a profoundly unnatural aesthetic. This display feels like a brazen attempt to masquerade as art, duping unsuspecting visitors into admiring hollow, algorithm-driven imitations of abstract expression.
Frankly, a small fraction—perhaps a quarter—of the works might hold fleeting appeal for the overly generous or undiscriminating viewer. But if your time in Busan is limited, I strongly urge you to bypass this lackluster exhibition. Save your energy for experiences that offer genuine artistic merit.
