点评:Visited the caves today and was shown round in a small party by our guide Jill. It’s an amazing experience to go down into the caves and learn about how the Beer stone was mined hundreds and thousands of years ago by the Romans, Anglo Saxons and in more recent history. An influx of money from a Hollywood film being shot in part in the caves has meant they have been able to install a new remote controlled lighting system. This allows the guide to light a small candle and turn off all the cave lighting. And, then if everyone is happy, to blow out the candle! You’ve never experienced darkness like it. Incredible how men and boys worked in such appalling conditions. Jill was very knowledgeable and full of stories and anecdotes about the caves and the men who worked there. She had an answer to all the many questions that were asked. Very impressive.
It was a fascinating and thoroughly enjoyable visit and well worth the entrance fee.

这是一次引人入胜、令人愉悦的参观,绝对物超所值。
