Was hoping I'd be stunned - left underwhelmed
Loch Lomond的点评
点评：I don’t know what I expected, but I definitely wanted to be wowed. I thought I’d feel an immediate sense of being in Scotland or would be stunned by the scenery. And that just didn’t happen.
We were driving pretty much the length of the west side of the Loch A82, on route to Inveraray, so made a couple of stops along the way.
1. Duck Bay - free on street parking with view of Loch - wasn’t much to see or do so just had a picnic snack and moved on. Proved impossible to get back onto A82 north so had to double back to Stoneymollan roundabout which annoyed me.
2. Luss - Pay and Display carparks were super busy and we nearly gave up, before a space appeared. Quick walk down to the pier where you can get boats from. Weather wasn’t great so not sure how much you’d see in those conditions. Little walk on the shore (some of the brickwork paths / walls are in a dire state), then time for a look in the tourist shop. The town was absolutely heaving and I couldn’t wait to leave.
3. Firkin Point - free carparking and much quieter, just a few paddleboarders for company. Nice loch view but the rain started so we didn’t linger.
4. We were planning on visiting the viewing tower at Inveruglas Visitor Centre, only to find it was demolished 2025/26.
5. The random spot - we ended up driving further north than we needed. Turning back boyfriend suggested parking in a lay-by as he’d seen a good loch view. A little bit of a scramble through trees, we encountered a family camping on the shore path, so trudged through shrubbery so as not to disturb. A few minutes walk and suddenly we were on a pebbly spit that jutted into the lake. The weather was such that facing one way was grey and raining, the other was blue skies and sunshine. Glad we found it as those are the views that will stay with me.
Was I overwhelmed by the scenery, not really. Did we bother stopping again on the way home, no.

4. 我们原本计划去因弗鲁格拉斯游客中心的观景塔参观，结果发现它早在2025/26年就已被拆除。
5. 那个随机选定的地点——结果我们开车往北开得比原计划更远。折返时，男友提议把车停在路边的停车带里，因为他看到了一处不错的湖景。在树林中艰难穿行一番后，我们看到有一家人正在湖岸小径上露营，于是我们绕过灌木丛，以免打扰到他们。又走了几分钟，我们突然来到了一处伸入湖中的卵石滩。当时的天气很是奇特：一面是灰暗阴雨，另一面却是晴空万里、阳光灿烂。很高兴我们发现了这个地方，这样的景色定会永远留在我的记忆中。
至于说我被这景色震撼到了吗？倒也谈不上。回家的路上我们又停下来欣赏了吗？也没有。
