点评：Carlos is an excellent and knowledgeable tour guide, offering customizable tours of Sintra for a very reasonable price!
After taking the short journey from Lisbon to Sintra around 12h00, my mother and I stepped off the train with no plan ahead of us. We crossed the street from the train station and were greeted by Carlos, who warmly invited us to take a tour of Sintra with him. Carlos offered to take us at our own pace, and promised that our tour would be customizable, allowing us to stop wherever we would like, for as long as we’d like. After some skepticism on our end, Carlos reassured us that we were doing the right thing by having our guard up, and even told us that if his tour did not meet our expectations in the end, we would not have to pay him.
We finally agreed to go, but needed to grab a quick lunch before heading off. Carlos took us to a great little lunch spot called Cafe Saudade, explaining that Saudade is a word only found in Portuguese, meaning to miss someone deeply. After this, we began our journey up the mountain to Pena Palace. Carlos offered great insight and history on the Palace, the Moorish Tower, several water fountains, and the microclimate of Sintra.
Touring with Carlos allowed us to bypass the stress and hassle of figuring out where and how to get tickets, and queuing to visit the Palace.
After our tour of Pena Palace, Carlos took us to Sintra’s Historic Center where he gave us a thorough walking tour, including taking us to some beautiful sights many other tourists are unaware of.
Finally, Carlos took us for a drive along the coast of Sintra, beginning with the most western point of Europe, and ending with Azenhas Do Mar (as he called “the Greece of Portugal”). Carlos even waited for us as we dined on the beach at Bar do Fundo and had one of the best meals of our trip!
At the end of the evening, Carlos dropped us back off at Sintra’s Historic Center, where we parted ways. We will recommend touring with Carlos to all our friends, and will reach out to him again when we return to Portugal!

最后，卡洛斯开车带我们沿着辛特拉的海岸线游览，从欧洲最西端出发，最后抵达阿泽尼亚斯-杜马尔（他称其为“葡萄牙的希腊”）。我们在巴尔多富恩多的海滩上用餐时，卡洛斯还特意等着我们；那顿饭堪称我们旅途中最美味的一餐！
