点评:We booked the tour “Experiencia Insólita” which is a premium offer to small groups allowing access to restricted areas, available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays early morning only. The Parque Nacional de Timanfaya is a clearly a “must see”: a breathtaking landscape alone worth the trip. Granted, the organization was flawless, the tour started sharp on time, our guide Sonia was competent and friendly, the local product tasting in the restaurant “El Diablo”, architected by César Manrique, ended up being a full lunch. Having praised all that, there are a few things worth for fellow travelers to know in advance, because we found them disappointing. Our “small group” consisted in 25 people. Not the 8-10 usually to be expected. Furthermore, visits are by full-size standard busses only - for our group as well. Windows of the bus can’t be opened. Our tour provided just one, single, short stop at Montaña Rajada where we could disembark, walk a short route and take a few meaningful pictures free of obstacles. All remaining time we had to stay on the vehicle, looking thru a locked window. While worth the experience, this is a no - no for anyone thinking to snap good pictures or video, because of glass reflexions, sun flares, wrong light and other people sitting tightly around...
