One of the highlights of my trip through Vietnam!
I spent quite some time looking for a cave tour that offered a good balance between adventure, variety and a reasonable price, and I’m really happy I found this one with Moc Nam Adventures. One of the biggest advantages for me was that the tour is both affordable and done in a small group. That was quite important to me, as I really wanted to avoid the feeling of being part of a large tourist group.
The experience was very well organised, and we were guided extremely well by Ant. She was attentive, knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable throughout the tour. One of the things I particularly enjoyed was that she occasionally treated us to her mesmerizing singing voice inside the caves. With the incredible acoustics, this created some really special moments and added an unexpected extra dimension to the experience.
The caves themselves were absolutely magnificent. Dark Cave, E Cave and Golden Cave were all very different, which made the whole experience feel varied from beginning to end. One of my personal highlights was floating on a SUP in complete darkness inside one of the caves — an unforgettable experience.
Another thing I really appreciated was simply being able to disconnect from everything for a while. No phone reception, no notifications, no busy tourist attractions — just the jungle, the caves and nature. After travelling through Vietnam and experiencing some of the busier tourist destinations, this was a very welcome change.
The trekking was an interesting mix. It is technically challenging in places, especially when navigating slippery rocks and uneven terrain, but the physical effort comes in relatively short stretches rather than as two full days of continuous jungle trekking. So if you prepare yourself thinking you’ll be hiking hard for two entire days, you may actually find it more manageable than expected. Personally, I had prepared quite seriously beforehand and would have enjoyed a little more sustained physical challenge, but the technical parts still made the trek engaging and adventurous.
The overnight stay was in a tent at a base camp in the jungle. I had perhaps imagined something a little more completely off-grid, with a tent somewhere deep in the jungle on its own, but the base camp was actually quite well equipped and comfortable. One funny thing to be aware of is that fruit falling from the trees onto the tents can be surprisingly loud, so earplugs are definitely recommended!
A few practical notes for future participants: a long pair of trousers is definitely useful. Moc Nam provides trekking sandals, which did the job surprisingly well. Of course, they don’t offer the same support as proper hiking shoes, but I appreciated not having to buy or carry hiking boots just for this tour. Good socks are essential, and I would definitely recommend mosquito spray. I personally didn’t wear long sleeves because I preferred something lighter, although that does mean being a little more exposed to insects. I didn’t really need a hat or sunscreen during my trip, partly because we had some rain and were well protected by the jungle canopy.
The food, organisation and overall care were all very good. Most importantly, the tour offered exactly what I had been looking for: a diverse and memorable cave experience, in a small group, at a reasonable price, and far away from the crowds.
I would definitely recommend Moc Nam Adventures. This was genuinely one of the highlights of my trip through Vietnam, and I’m very happy I chose this tour.

这次徒步之旅也颇具趣味。从技术层面来说，有些路段颇具挑战性，尤其是在穿越湿滑的岩石与崎岖不平的地形时。不过，体力消耗主要集中在较短的时间段内，而并非连续两整天都在密林中徒步。所以，如果你原本以为自己要连续两天辛苦跋涉，实际上可能会发现这比预期要轻松一些。就我个人而言，我事先做了相当充分的准备，其实还希望能有更多需要持续消耗体力的环节呢；不过那些技术性较强的路段依然让这次徒步充满了趣味与冒险色彩。当晚我们是睡在丛林中的营地帐篷里。我原本或许期待着一种完全与世隔绝的体验——比如把帐篷搭在丛林深处的某个地方独自过夜——但实际上这个营地设施相当完善且舒适。有一点很有意思：从树上掉下来的水果砸到帐篷上时会发出惊人的响声，因此强烈建议带上耳塞！
给未来参与者的几点实用建议：有一条长裤绝对会派上用场。Moc Nam提供了徒步用凉鞋，效果出奇地好。当然，它们的支撑性比不上专业的徒步鞋，但能省去专门为这次旅行购买或携带徒步靴的麻烦，这一点我很欣赏。舒适的袜子必不可少，我强烈推荐使用驱蚊喷雾。我个人没有穿长袖衣服，因为我更喜欢轻便一些的着装，不过这样一来就容易受到蚊虫叮咬。在这次行程中，我其实并不需要戴帽子或涂抹防晒霜。部分原因在于当时下了些雨，而丛林的树冠层也很好地为我们提供了庇护。
食物、组织安排以及整体的服务都相当出色。最重要的是，这次旅行完全符合我的期待：以小团体形式体验丰富多样的洞穴景观，价格也合理，更难得的是远离了人群。
