点评:The Cube Houses in Rotterdam were built in the early 1980s. They are a true eye-catcher, as the modern, business-like style of the post-war period had created a dull and unimaginative cityscape. Architect Piet Blom wanted to create cities where people's well-being was once again central. The (tilted) cubes rest on pillars that provide access to the living spaces above. There are 51 of them, creating the impression of living and working in a forest. Perhaps the reason Blom was ultimately not as successful as an architect is that the cubes proved not to be very efficient in their use of available space and were susceptible to damage from leaks. Of course, the construction costs are also considerable.
Two cubes are open to visitors. I found the cube used by artists the most interesting.

目前有两个立方体对游客开放。我觉得供艺术家们使用的那个立方体最为有趣。
