新天鹅堡的点评
点评：Neuschwanstein Castle – Located in the beautiful alpine scenery of Bavaria, it’s easy to see how the castle inspired Disney’s Magic Kingdom. Now, let’s get something out of the way first – you can walk up to the castle, up, and up to the castle. It takes at least 30 minutes (plan accordingly for your ticket time), covers 1.5 km, and rises nearly 800 feet, a 13% average grade. Our guide failed to mention the free horse-drawn carriages or the 3 Euro buses. OK the walk up was good for us, but it’s a bit of a climb for a guy in his mid-60’s with a titanium knee. Once, there the castle is beyond spectacular and the docents are excellent. The art and wood work are mostly restored originals and truly fit for a king. Of note as well was the addition of electricity and running water to many areas. Very advanced for the 19th century. The included audio tour is interesting, but I felt a bit rushed. There is so much to take in. I would have loved more time. Don't skip the walk to Mary's Bridge for the best photos of the Castle. Just be careful, that bridge may be crowded and I'm not sure the boards are all that solid! It's a long way down.
