The walk up from the parking lot is all uphill, and you will feel every step of the elevation gain (about 1,525 meters up). However, the surrounding scenery on the way up is lovely, so take your time and enjoy the views.
You have two main ways to go:
1. The Interpretive (Lower) Trail: This is the "super cool" hiking side. If you take this route, be sure to wear waterproof boots, as portions of the trail feature streams and muddy sections.
2. The Upper (Gravel) Trail: This is the relaxed, wide gravel road. If you're pushing a stroller or bringing along large groups of young children, this is the much easier and more manageable ascent.
