Kent Battle of Britain Museum的点评
点评：I visited today for the first time on the recommendation of a colleague. I’d also seen you advertised at The Battle of Britain Memorial at Capel Le Ferne earlier in the week. I wasn’t quite prepared for the absolute wealth of exhibits and information. It feels like a very fitting tribute, I love how all the exhibits have their backstory there to read it brings them to life, it’s personal and clearly so much research and passion has gone into everything including the cemetery’s where the fallen are buried. Including Hawkinge which is a very short distance away. Not solely a tribute to Allied Forces which was refreshing. Nothing glamorised just stories told from both sides.
Little did I know that upon arrival I was greeted by David Brocklehurst MBE! A most humble and personable man - it’s no wonder the 12 nominated him! I hope plans to expand come to fruition and look forward to returning when they do. Thank you for an interesting and informative visit. Far too much to absorb in one trip. It was great to see some volunteers about - they are clearly passionate about the place too. Like nowhere else I’ve ever been - thank you. They should never be forgotten.
