点评：Visiting the Reichstag was one of the absolute highlights of my time in Berlin. From start to finish, the tour was fascinating, moving, and incredibly well delivered. I did the 8pm tour so it was dark and so much fun. You could see right across the city. I applied online a couple of weeks before.
Our guide was outstanding — knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about both German history and the importance of telling it honestly. He explained everything clearly, answered questions with ease, and brought the building’s past and present together in a way that really stayed with me.
What makes this tour so special is the history you can actually see. Being shown the original Red Army graffiti from 1945, still preserved on the walls, was deeply powerful. Seeing the names, dates, and messages written by Soviet soldiers at the end of WWII makes the events of the war feel incredibly real and human. It’s one thing to read about history — it’s another to stand right in front of it.
The contrast between the historic building and the modern glass dome is also brilliant, symbolising transparency and democracy after such a dark past. The views over Berlin from the dome are stunning, but it’s the history inside the building that really leaves an impression.
This is a must-do in Berlin. It’s free, incredibly well organised, and offers one of the most honest and moving insights into Germany’s past and present. I walked away with a deeper understanding and huge respect for how this history is preserved and shared.
