点评:Our wine tour with Marco from Marco's way was absolutely worth it!
There were two of us on a full day tour with him. At 9am sharp, he came to pick us up in a comfortable and clean van. So that we could taste wines without worrying about who should drive. That was just as well because we visited 3 wineries and tasted some 12 wines in total!
Delicious discoveries at wineries still unknown to us. They were smaller wineries run by one family where everything is still done by the family itself. From working the fields in the vineyard, to picking the grapes by hand, to production and bottling, all done in-house. Very nice to see the production hall with the big barrels or the pupitres with the bottles of spumante.
We were well received everywhere, the families know Marco well.
He follows along the tasting and can translate in English if the family only speaks Italian.
Because Marco is a sommelier and also makes wine himself, he can give a lot of background information on certain production processes.
On the way from one winery to another, Marco talks about what to see along the way. He knows a lot about his region and is proud to share this with us.
As mentioned, we did 3 wineries. And lunch was provided at the second winery where we tasted delicious local specialities such as the Cicerchia soup, a traditional recipe in Serra de Conti.
Along with the cheeses, meats, olives and bread with homemade olive oil, we enjoyed eating and drinking throughout the day. We were not short of anything!
In the late afternoon, Marco brought us safely home again. A wonderful day trip with great new discoveries.
