点评:On a bitterly cold December afternoon my twin brother and I were having a great time at Cologne Cathedral Christmas Market, after enjoying gluhwein's and reibekuchen at this magnificent Christmas market we decided to head to Brauhaus Früh Am Dom for some delicious kölsch beers, outside this famous brewpub is Heinzelmaennchenbrunnen ,a wonderful water feature with a beautiful fairytale attached to it.
Legend has it that a group of gnomes came out at night to perform the work of the citizens of the city so the citizens of the city could sleep later ,that was until a curious wife of a tailor ventured out at night to catch the gnomes going about their buisness ,this ticked off the gnomes who never returned to their work at night in the city ,the story was wrote by Ernst Weyden and translated into English by Thomas Keightley in 1828,the water feature and statues that make up the great work of art are amazing, you see the tailors wife with lamp and lots of gnomes, its a fountain most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area and easy to locate along Am Hof near Cologne Cathedral.
