点评：We're just home after spending a full day exploring Houghton Hall, its parkland and the exceptional Walled Garden. The staff and guides are particularly helpful and knowledgeable and enlightened us on any question we asked. This is a stunning grand house to visit, exquisite attention to detail shown in both in the grounds and garden, as well as the beautiful interior state rooms open to visitors. Sculptures large and small by Stephen Cox have been cleverly curated, and look amazing.
It's been 4 delightful hours, the highlight being the Walled Garden, with a rose garden in full bloom, peonies lavishly planted along the length of a wall, and two richly planted herbaceous borders with colours and diverse planting creating a rich palette. It is a most elegant and beautiful space.
