点评：Recently visited Shaftesbury partly to visit Gold Hill. Famous from the Hovis add, the view from the top accessed from either side of the town hall off of the High Street is worth the visit. We did walk down, then back up this steep, cobbled hill but there is not much to see around the bend at the bottom of the hill, the highlight is the top and the view. Unless you are really keen to do it save yourself the walk down and visit Park Walk, again accessed via the high street (alley way next to Costa Coffee) to get some more great views and visit the ruins of Shaftesbury Abbey. We also visited the small but informative Gold Hill Museum, where we were given the good advice to walk along Park Walk. If travelling to Shaftesbury by car, try parking in the Barton Hill car park, it’s free and a less than 10 minute stroll through the recreation ground then Bell Street to the High Street.
