Muyil Lazy River and Ruins

点评：We went on a tour of the Muyil Lazy River set up for us by localquickies.com (who we've used often). What a fantastic tour! We've done this at least7 times now, always with LocalQuickie. His knowledge of the area, boat operators, etc is unmatched. The boat operators are always happy to see him, and we've never had any logistical problems. We show up, and they are ready and waiting for us! The trips always go so smoothly, something we've learned is not a guarantee in Mexico!
The tour starts at the Muyil Laguna where you have the option of doing either a short or long tour (we've done both). The shorter tour takes you across 2 Lagunas to a drop off point near a small ruin. When you arrive, the guides will instruct you to take your life jacket, and step into it, upside down! This is your floatation down the lazy river, which was hand dredged by the Mayans. You can still see the markings!!! After a 1/2 mile float, you reach another dock where you can continue on to Boca Paila (and manatees and crocs!), or walk the boardwalk back to your original dropoff point. I highly recommend taking both! Note: be sure to have a comfortable swimsuit, and walking shoes! The trip back on the boardwalk is about a half mile, through grasslands.
After returning to the dock, we took a quick side trip to a viewing tower (other tours do not typically do this!) where you have amazing views of the lagoons, grassland, jungle and the ocean. Can't say enough about how much this adds to the tour!
On the return, we stopped in Tulum for lunch at Burrito Amor. Another hidden gem!
I can't say enough about LocalQuickies! We've done other trips with/through them, and they've become our go to guide in the Riviera Maya! His local knowledge is unparalleled! We've fished, visited ruins (try Xel Ha ruins!), swam in cenotes, gone zip-lining, sailed, and had many wonderful off the beaten path meals and adventures recommended by them. Highly recommended! You won't be disappointed!

回到码头后，我们又顺道去了一趟观景塔（一般的旅游团通常不会安排这个行程！），从那里可以俯瞰泻湖和草原的绝美景色。丛林与海洋。实在难以用言语来形容这一切为此次旅行增添了多大的乐趣！
返程时，我们在图卢姆的Burrito Amor餐厅享用午餐。又一家藏匿于市井中的宝藏餐厅！
