点评:My 16yo hates indoor malls, at least that’s what we thought until she experienced Les Galleries Lafayette Hausman. First of all, after experiencing two days of an unseasonably blistering Parisian heat dome, feeling the AC in the building was tearjerking. Secondly, the building alone is breathtaking. Looking upward from the ground level to take in the coupole and multiple balconies was a sight to behold. But what tickled us the most was the open layout of the stores/brands and how each floor of the building hosted a different theme (e.g., accessories, women’s shoes, children). We now understand what American department stores are trying but failing to emulate. One cannot explain how happy my child was to see an organized albeit huge assortment of sales counters from which she found several new favorites. That combined with the overall design of the building made for a one-of-kind experience. If you are in Paris’ Opera district, take a moment to stop by, if not for shopping then simply to appreciate the architecture.
