点评:What a fun visit and we learned so much about chocolate! We booked the “Make your own chocolate bar” experience, which lasted 45 minutes. Upon arrival we were able to make our own chocolate bars, using many add-ons and then setting them aside to dry while we learned about the process of making chocolate. The lesson was short but very complete and we left feeling like we knew exactly how their chocolate is made, and how the ingredients are grown and handled. It’s a very labor intensive process with not a lot of room for mistakes. We were surprised to learn about how real Grenadian chocolate is made and how American chocolate is made. That, along with the samples of the various chocolate types they make, It left us feeling both distraught about American chocolate ingredients and surprised about how the Grenadian dark chocolate is not bitter at all. We all decided that this is the only chocolate we will ever enjoy again. Additionally, we have the luck of our tour guide finding a cocoa pot outside so that we could open it up and try the fruit around the seeds. The fruit is amazing. I wish there was a way to get our hands on more of it! Our guide was fantastic and kind and informative, and even gave us some information about things around the island.
Very surprisingly our 23 year olds Loved the experience as well. We left with arms full of cocoa products. I would highly recommend the experience.
