点评:First thing which struck us was how nice a house and area must have been even almost 200 years ago a rising writer would have lived, sizeable and am guessing in a very pleasant part of London town. The visit, a well laid out route around is planned for you, starting from the basement working your way up to the nursery. Again the thing which struck me was not so much it being about Charles Dickens and his rising recognition as a writer but the insight to his personal life, friends the social life he and his then wife had , also home life and family and even what was served for dinner . There are helpful volunteers at many key points to ask questions of and an audio guide you can refer to even after your visit. Whilst some of the furniture might have come from other of Dickenns homes just to get a peep into how he lived , the friends and family he valued even after splitting from his wife but also the inspiration he found to create many of his charactores I.E Mr McCorba loosely based on his farther, never knew. that Worthy of a visit by any Dickens fan.
