点评：Let's get the negatives out of the way: Mesa Verde is composed of two mesas, and this one is on the "other one" (Wetherill Mesa) that 90% of visitors don't get to. That's because it is not open every day of the week (in September, it was closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays - why? No idea. Best check before you plan.) AND it takes longer to get to the sites. Most of the four notable sites on Wetherill are a longer hike to get to - unlike the other mesa, you have to park and then walk anywhere from a half-mile to over a mile to get to the trailhead for the ruin you are looking to visit. As a result, you need at least four hours to do just one site at Wetherill, and if you are looking to do a couple of tours on a single day visit (which is what most people do), you will be hard-pressed to do this and then something else.
Now onto the positives. Long House is every bit as spectacular and maybe more so than Cliff Palace, but the tour groups are smaller sizes and you aren't as a result sharing this experience with 50 other people. It's an easy enough walk to get to (after the .7 mile walk there on a paved, mildly-sloping path - like most of Mesa Verde, unless you are grossly out of shape or very affected by elevation sickness, you should be able to manage it. The site has great views, the guide was excellent and the history here is fascinating. It was the only site with an active enough seep spring so that there was a bit of vegetation growing. Tour buses don't make there way here (at least there were none when we were there and PLENTY all over the other mesa), so the crowds are lesser in size.
