点评：paid this mining museum a visit as we passed, well it was like a ghost town hardly a soul there, apparantley thers a staff dispute on but didnt see any of this except we found most of the staff miserable, the one we managed to talk to said moral at this place was at rock bottom and it showed, its getting tired in places and a bit scruffy, needs some tlc, we had a good walk round on surface only as there not doing anymore underground tours, the interactive machines in various places were good but we found a few not working, thers no one to ask advice about if you need any info youv to trail back to shop and ask the ladies in there, there trying ther best in shop but its more like a tat shop selling craft items, canteen food was a bit off putting as it had been under them lights too long was probably nice when fresh, i advise to take sandwiches where thers places to sit and eat, overall worth a visit if youv not been but get wrapt up its high up with great views but very cold, a tip for whoever runs the place, have a visit to railway museum in york and see how a museum should be run, youv got the core items on tap they just need utilising better.
