点评：I've visited plenty of zoos in several countries and I can honestly say that Colchester Zoo is in my top 3 or 4 as an attraction. The pathways, the enclosures, the central lake/bridges, the viewing positions are all very well arranged, well maintained and so very clean. The animals all look well kept and as happy as one could hope for in captivity. I especially enjoyed the goat walk-through, the animatronic dinosaurs, the tunnel under the water (albeit without any sea lions right now), guinea pig village, the Amur tiger/leopard viewing areas, and the hyrax which I've never seen before in any other zoo. I was a little disappointed in the fennec fox and lorikeets which were both closed/resting while I was there, but it's understandable. There is so much to see, even though I spent most of a day there, I could visit another dozen times before I had seen everything. The larger animals - elephants, rhinos, giraffes, kudu, ostriches - are very visible, so younger visitors will be excited. Smaller ones like tamarins and marmosets require more patience and a keener eye, but I did enjoy the bridge-tube over the doorway. Loved the pygmy hippo, the weaver birds and sun bears too. Personally, I would've liked to have seen a few more birds and maybe a butterfly house, but frankly, this was a wonderful day out.
