点评:I visited the Palace of Versailles with my sister and cousin during a trip to Paris for my 60th birthday. The palace is undeniably majestic, and I’m glad I got to see it. But for me, the paid visit wasn’t worth the expense.
You walk through several rooms, including the famous Hall of Mirrors. It’s impressive, but unless you’re especially interested in art and palace history, you may find the experience underwhelming. The gardens also didn’t live up to the hype for me.
I’d suggest admiring the palace from the outside, taking a few photos, and saving your time and money for Paris itself. The city’s real magic is in its streets, cafés, wine bars, restaurants, monuments, and the simple pleasure of wandering around. We saw runners everywhere, enjoyed delicious food, and made the best memories just exploring.
Versailles is beautiful, but I’d spend more time enjoying Paris—and remember that much of what makes the city special is free.
