点评：Much of the palace and grounds are currently under construction so I concede this may be a contributing factor to our less than ideal experience.
We went on a rainy and cold day and did not have a tour guide. The line to get in is LONG and you will be going through the tour with that entire group. If you are at the back of this line, everyone in front of you will be clogging up the rooms so you might want to skip a couple of rooms to get to the more interesting ones which are much later. I was there 5 years ago in June and there were far fewer people on the tour, and it was much more enjoyable.
You can get an audio tour or skip it. I would recommend it if you are a history buff and really want to understand a lot of the palace history because it is quite informative. It can be hard to find the number in the various rooms when they are literally PACKED SOLID with bodies. I used it for the first couple of rooms and then got bored of it. If I were advising a friend I would say skip it and look up things on your phone that you are particularly interested in.
The tour begins by funneling everyone through a series of rooms that are empty other than artwork on the walls. One or two of these would be ok, but room after room after room until you get to something remotely interesting (the king and queens bedrooms) mean by the time you get there, you are only somewhat interested. I would recommend spending a small amount of time in a couple of the art rooms and getting to the bedrooms before the huge crowd arrives. There are a few places in which you will bottleneck and it is a bit uncomfortable.
