Well worth a visit!
Geevor Tin Mine的点评
点评：We visit Cornwall a few times a year but had never been to Geevor before - we are so glad we decided to visit! We went during the Easter break as a family of 4, including our two boys aged 13 and 11, who enjoyed it as much as we did!
Our favourite part of the visit was the incredible talk given by ex-miner Vaughan, in the emotive setting of ‘The Dry’. These locker and shower rooms have been left exactly as they were the day the mine closed, with personal items, boots and clothes left in place. Vaughan was a captivating speaker and I found the whole experience so moving (especially being half Cornish myself). We could have listened to his stories all day quite honestly!
Other highlights included the walk through the underground mine, exploring the relics and artefacts in the many buildings, the Hard Rock Museum and panning for ‘gems’ (particularly enjoyed by our youngest).
I would encourage anyone, of any age, to visit and support this historic site, it really is a Cornish gem.
