A performance that was worth seeing!
莎士比亚环球剧场的点评
点评：A visit to The Globe has always been on our bucket list and I'm pleased to say the theatre lived up to our expectations. It really is a rather beautiful space and offers a fantastic, authentic atmosphere.
It is true that the seating is very tight and at times uncomfortable but that just adds to experience. You feel you are rushed back into history to embody the setting as those did in the Elizabethan period.
My husband had booked seats and cushion - helped our comfort a little more - on the first floor (under the roof covering) and with the weather being a bit inclement, we fortunately stayed dry! 😊
The production, The Twelfth Night, was very good with much hilarity and audience participation and at times, we were in stitches! We did struggle to follow some of the scenes as a couple of the actors' voices did not carry very well so we missed vital lines of the play. The 'stand-out' actor for us was Pierce Quigley who played Malvolio. His comedy timing, actions and movement around the stage was just spot on!! 👏👏
