点评:Royal Victoria Park is the large public park in front of the Royal Crescent. If you have time to explore beyond Bath’s main sights, then the park is a very pleasant place to spend some time. However if like us, you have a pretty tight itinerary, then I wouldn’t prioritise it over other sights.
It’s free to enter and stroll through. We were here on a sunny day and the grounds were being well used, with plenty of people out walking or lying on the grass, soaking up the sun.
There are a number of interesting features here, including the Victoria Column (a 10 metre tall obelisk erected in 1837 to mark Princess Victoria’s 18th birthday), the Botanical Gardens and the Minerva temple, a duck pond, the woodland area known as ‘the Great Dell’ and a handful of sculptures (the Jupiter Head, the Medici lions and several wood carvings). Unfortunately we didn’t have much time to linger so we didn’t see much of it at all.
