点评:A beautiful monument located up on Calton Hill that my twin brother and I visited was the National Monument.
The National Monument ( National Monument Of Scotland ) is dedicated to the armed forces who lost their lives during the Napoleonic Wars ( 1803-1815 ) ,designed to replicate the Parthenon in Athens ,construction began in 1826 but due to lack of funds was halted in 1829 earning it the name of " Edinburgh's Shame " designed by architect's Charles Robert Cockerell and William Henry Playfair, its a Category A Listed structure and consists of 12 huge columns ,despite efforts over the years to complete this monument which came to nothing, its now what I'd called an " unfinished monument " ,its still beautiful, views from this monument of the city are amazing, its a monument thats most definitely well worth checking out if you're planning a holiday to Edinburgh.
