点评:This stunning exhibition is well worth a visit if you are interested in the history of fashion (or indeed history in general… my husband also enjoyed it!). The garments designed by Elsa
Schiaparelli herself are exquisite and whisk you into a world of high society dances and events… but the more utilitarian jackets and suits too are so thoughtfully curated. I hadn’t realised how useful it would be for women to have large carry-all pockets in their suits during wartime. I learnt a lot whilst also enjoying the visual spectacle. We are brought into the modern day by Daniel Roseberry’s catwalk creations for the house in homage to the original style, but it was Elsa’s garments designed to be worn by real women which left the biggest impression on me. Well done to the curators and to the V&A for this great experience!
