点评：The V&A (Victoria & Albert Museum) is the world's largest museum about design and decorative arts. Its main site is located in South Kensington on Exhibition Road near the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum but the V&A collection can also be found in several other sites across the UK, namely V&A East, V&A East Storehouse, Young V&A, and V&A Dundee.
The V&A South Kensington site contains a magnificent collection particularly strong in fashion and textiles as well as ceramics and sculptures. It's also renowned for its Cast Courts which contain impressive plaster casts of famous European monuments, including Trajan's Column and Michelangelo's David. Some of the other highlights of the museum are Tippoo's Tiger, a mechnical device from late 18th century India, the Raphael Cartoons, the splendid Ardabil carpet, and the Great Bed of Ware.
Entry to the V&A is free, except for the museum's temporary exhibitions. You can easily spend a couple of hours exploring the V&A's massive collection and if you're a big museum enthusiast like me, you'll probably need a couple of days to explore all there is to see, especially if you take advantage of the interesting interactive display panels that the V&A has introduced in recent years.
